MARIO BELLINI-BIOGRAPHY


Mario Bellini biography Mario Bellini, born in 1935 in Milan, is one of the most influent personalities in the contemporary italian architecture and industrial design.
After his graduation at the Polytechnic School of Milan he starts his academic career as professor at the Istituto Superiore di Disegno Industriale in Venice and from 1963 to 1991 he collaborates in the design development of Olivetti.
From 1963 he creates his owns works and furnitures. Through this path he founds in 1973 in Milan the architectural agency “Studio Bellini”.
From 1978 to 1982 he works in the design development of Reanult. In 1987 the Museum of Modern Art in New York honors him with a personal retrospective.
During the first half of the eighties he continues to teach between Wien and Milan since he becomes editor in chief for the italian architecture magazine “Domus”.
From 1995 on, he teaches in Genoa and participates to the most important schools and universities architectural ateliers and debates of the world.
