FRANCO ALBINI - BIOGRAPHY



Robbiate, Como, 1905-Milan 1977.
Architect and designer, in 1929 he graduates at Politecnico di Milan and the next year he opens his professional studio within from 1949 on he put aside his professor career at the University of Venice, Tourin and Milan. Between the young group of the “razionalisti”, Albini creates with a personal poetic with constructive values mediated by the attention to technology and to structures.
After the second world war he works for museums set up and in 1963, with Franca Helg and Bob Noorda, he realize the metro signs of the Linea 1 in Milan.

FRANCA HELG - BIOGRAPHY



Milan, 1920-1989.
Architect and designer, graduated in Milan in 1945, from 1952 she works with F.Albini with whom she signs every project. Among the university career she develop an intense project activity by drawing objects and furniture, like the element designed series for Bonacina, composed by tables, furnitures, armchairs model 507 (1959), and 658 (1961); the lamps 524 (1962) and 601 (1963) for Arteluce.
Several projects for Poggi; in 1963 she designs, with Albini and Bob Noorda the metro signsof the Linea 1 in Milan (Compasso d'Oro, 1964)
